North Fork Beaches

(Scroll Down for Specific Beaches)

The beaches on the north shore of the North Fork face the Long Island Sound (as pictured here). These beaches offer a calmer, more swimmable experience than many of the other Long Island beaches on the Atlantic. The beaches tend to be rocky (thanks to the ice age) and beach shoes are recommended for ease getting in and out of the water. These beaches offer the rare and beautiful opportunity to see a sunset over the water on the east coast.

The beaches on the south shore of the North Fork are even calmer. When the tide goes out they become like the perfect "kiddie pool." These beaches are typically sandy.

Many of the beaches require a town permit. As a guest of The Farm, you can purchase a sticker at the Southold Town Hall or online.

There are other beaches that do not require a town permit and might charge a daily parking fee.

There are MANY beaches. The list on this page is just a sample of the beaches on the North Fork. For more informaiton, visit the town website.

Depending on the length of your stay and the number of days you plan to go to the beach, you can figure out which is best for you.
